Right, first things first. Three new singles in four weeks is PATHETIC. There hasn’t been an intake that low for a calendar month since August 1961! So, on to the songs then, such as they are…
I can’t be the only person who thinks that Faded sounds like a regulation issue pop ballad that’s been remixed and played back at half speed, surely? It’s neither fish nor fowl, and to my untrained lugholes it sounds a bit lacking in the “doing interesting stuff” department.
Cake By The Ocean’s all right, even if it does sound like it’s been done by a band who’ve taken the “Tonight Matthew, we’re going to be Maroon 5” approach to songwriting. I do like One Dance though, it’s a hell of a chill out tune… and… er… that’s it for April. To be perfectly honest with you, it’s been a bit quiet so far, this year.
