Glitterball’s all right. Um… yeah… that’s about all I have to say about this one.

Oh, now this is better from The Weakened / The Weekend. Earned It was a bit of a drag, but Can’t Feel My Face has a lot more get up and go to it. Also, it’s not a song about a worrying medical condition, it’s just a love song. Shame about Drag Me Down though, the band give it everything but the tune sounds a bit lazy and unfinished to me.

“Let’s Marvin Gaye and get it on -” NO. And as for the video with its blatant Fiat product placement and rampant bonking, NO AGAIN.

There really isn’t a lot to Intoxicated apart from a handful of repeated riffs, but what there is is pleasingly silly. More like this, please. Jess Glynne’s single jumped from 78 to 1, an impressive feat that not even the likes of Fuzzbox and Super Furry Animals have managed. I can only assume the single was released a day or two early, hence the low start, but do you know something, it’s not bad. Come to think of it, some of the stuff that’s reached the Top Ten in 2015’s been really good. I’m 41 years old now, I should be building sheds and listening to Elton John, not listening to current chart music and liking it. What the hell’s wrong with me?
