What A Night isn’t quite as funny as it probably thinks it is, but it’s nowhere near as bad as the Goodies singles were so that’s something. I like Can’t Hold Us, though; I hate to say it but the likes of Eminem could probably learn something from Macklemore et al as regards making his songs sound different to each other.
You And Me sort of passed me by, I must admit. I’ve heard it, but I have absolutely no opinion on it whatsoever. Oh my God… has David Guettareally sampled Alice Deejay’s Better Off Alone? And the video! What the hell? His songs are rapidly turning into the closest thing that dance music has to a punchline. Maybe he just needs a holiday. Let Her Go – no, no thank you. I’m sure it’s very well done but take it away, please.
Strangely enough, This Is What It Feels Like feels like a Calvin Harris song. Funny old world, innit? I do like So Good To Me, it’s short and sweet and really chilled out. Also, it has a giraffe in the video, playing hide and seek with a little girl – I dare you to tell me that’s not one of the best things ever to happen in a music video.
Endorphins is a tidy little number, if just a mite samey. Nice to hear Wretch 32 carrying on from where he left off with Blackout; all his stuff’s been good to listen to so far. Heart Attack threatens to be good, really it does, but it doesn’t quite have the courage of its convictions.
