WHAT ABOUT US Saturdays featuring Sean Paul |
Only Love is a folky, poppy song with a chant… nope, not my sort of thing. Not overly impressed by Mirrors either; to me, it sounds like a return to his Justified-era sound. Charity single or not, mixing One Way Or Another with Teenage Kicks was a really, really awful idea and the person who came up with the idea should be ashamed.
Just Give Me A Reason is all right, but nothing more. God, March is being really underwhelming at the moment, isn’t it? Reload’s an odd one, but I’ve heard worse (especially this month). Blimey… I must be getting close to the end now, because Pompeii has been a continuous presence inside the Top 100 since March 2013 (as I write, it’s at No.57). Daft thing is, I’d never heard it in full until now, which is a shame because it’s really good. Not quite seventy-five-consecutive-weeks-inside-the-Top-100 good, but still really good.
Ready Or Not. From the sound of this, I’d say not.
According to the lyrics, Nicole Scherzinger is a boomerang. Sometimes, I wonder if her lyricists are even trying.
Wait a minute… the Saturdays have done it! It took them five years, but they’ve got a chart-topper to their name in the end. Patience pays off in the end, you know, and the irony of What About Us being one of their decidedly less good singles being the one to do it is not lost on me.
