Yes, Believe is rubbish. At the time, however, I couldn't say that.

BELIEVE

Cher

Please, no "Oh my God, they killed Sonny!" jokes here. This is a respected musician at work here, and my goodness she's been doing her research lately. In dance music specifically, and to be honest the results are frightening. Considering her age (not just approaching 40, but way past and heading into Eastbourne), she has absolutely no right to be producing banging tunes of this quality (ask Donna Summer). Yet somehow she does it. I think we always wondered if Cher would be good again, perhaps all our wishes have been granted. We'll see.

HONEY TO THE B

Billie (album)

Frightening, disastrous, dreadful and a terrible, terrible mistake. Really, it's the worst album title in years. The music improves on the title, but then it has to, or is that because it wants to? What may surprise you is by how much it improves - quite staggeringly so in fact. Perfect pop, some amazing R&B tracks and even room for a heart-mashing tender ballad, this album's just what you need to cheer you up. That's what it says here anyway.

OUTSIDE

George Michael

So many things we could touch upon regarding his extra-curricular activities, so many chances to end up in court and donate to his ever-increasing fortune. However, this is a quality free paper, not some cheap Sunday rag and as such I shall concentrate on the music which, for once, is well worth a listen. What about the last album, Older? Didn't rate it, it sounded far too 'mature' for me, as if he'd aged thirty years since Listen Without Prejudice. This however, is much more like it. Sounds a bit like FastLove maybe, but it's so much better than that, really. Besides, it'll be nice to have somebody over 16 at Number One for a change.
