FEELING FOR YOU
Cassius

Cassius are alright, I suppose. I'm not really into this French disco thing, you see. To me, Daft Punk are amazingly hit and miss, Air are just rubbish full stop and then there's Cassius. They're more Daft Punk than Air (thank God), but they're still fairly hit and miss. This is a funky little number - look, it's French disco, what did you expect, something original? - but it's not bad. A hit. But listen to me, French bands, you're not going to get away with this forever.
GOODBYE
Spice Girls

This isn't really a review, more a query. How on Earth can a fairly average lump of slowed-down kiddiepop such as this not only stay in the charts for five (count 'em) months, but also enter The Official UK Top 40 on no less than three (you can count them too) occasions? If you know, please don't tell me. I really don't think I want to know.
HUMAN
Pretenders

Ooh, a comeback single. Am I meant to be impressed? Let's see, what's this? "Mixed by Tin Tin Out"? Oh well, this
must be good then. (Listens.) No, I was wrong. It's just more old rockers trying to sound a bit more up to date by employing some mixers who seem to have forgotten what makes a dancey song in the first place. Just say no, kids.
PICK A PART THAT'S NEW
Stereophonics

Does anyone really care that the video borrows hugely from The Italian Job? I certainly don't. Still, it is a good video... Oh yes, the song. It's quite good. Really. It rocks along quite merrily, Kelly Jones still sings like someone in dire need of some cough sweets and there's more good stuff on the album. There, I think that covers everything.
