The biggest names in pop.

ALL OUT OF LOVE

H & Claire

Another sub-standard Abba-esque pop single, recorded in the style of Steps. At this rate, the only way H & Claire are going to be the biggest name in pop is if you write it in huge letters, which I'd imagine is not quite what they're looking for. It's songs like this that make you wonder why the participants bothered.

DIE ANOTHER DAY

Madonna

Over the years, there have been some godawful Bond themes. Go on, be honest, a lot of them really are terrible, aren't they? For every On Her Majesty's Secret Service (the best ever) and Live And Let Die (at which point Paul McCartney really should've stopped), there's a Tomorrow Never Dies, which frankly sounds more like Perry Mason than James Bond and All Time High (the song used to herald the start of Octopussy). As Bond themes go, this one has a minor problem. The first few seconds aside, this doesn't sound like one at all. Whoops. Considering that getting this job is still thought of as a pretty major deal, it's a bit disappointing to discover that this sounds pretty much like Music-era Madonna, the only things setting it apart being the mention of the film's (and song's) title being mentioned in the chorus and a couple of brief appearances by the orchestra. It's certainly the most upbeat addition to the canon since The Living Daylights, though, so that makes a nice change, but as a Bond theme it doesn't quite work. That said, it's not a bad song if you ignore the 007 element so it'll be a fair-sized hit whatever happens. It's not like she really needs the money, though.
