You’ve got the time it takes the board to revolve.

COLOURBLIND

Darius

This is getting silly. So far, thanks to the wonders of ITV, we’ve had Hear’Say, Liberty X, Will Young, Gareth Gates, Rik Waller and Jessica Garlick hurled at us, although there’s a chance I’ve missed someone. And now here’s another. Oh good. To be fair, this isn’t bad. It’s a fairly inoffensive pop song with the guitars at the forefront and… erm, I’m not sure Darius would want to hear this… it sounds a bit like A1. It’s going to be a big hit, all the ingredients are there and if Darius keeps this up he’ll get that triple platinum album he wants and all. I personally won’t buy this, but I’m not really in his target market so I don’t think I count.

LOVIN’ IS EASY

Hear’Say

Come over here, Darius. Let’s have a look at what you could’ve won. That’s right, it’s a place in a band that released two albums in six months, has already replaced one of its number, has seen its singles that aren’t called Pure And Simple do rather worse than was envisaged and, well, put it this way, if you looked in an ecyclopaedia, under the phrase “Flash in the pan” don’t be surprised if you see a photo of Hear’Say. Get the feeling there’s a lot riding on this single? It’d be a shame if there is, because although it’s a big improvement on Everybody, it’s still not enough to lift them above any other pop band around today. Still, as long as they know where they left the drawing board they should be OK.

LIKE A PRAYER

Mad’House

Think of the drum loop from Black Legend’s You See The Trouble With Me and the vocals from some obscure Madonna song mixed together and that’s all there is to it. It passes the time, if nothing else.
