The only thing that’s going to stop this single being a huge hit would be the giant gas planet Jupiter altering its orbit somewhat radically so that it slams into our own world just a few minutes before the shops open on the day of release. It really is going to be that big a hit. Think of a jolly Dance Anthem TM with some excessively cheerful blokes asking you to wave your arms like a fool and have a good time and that’s what you get with this song. It’s rubbish, but it’s good-natured rubbish and although there’s more chance of the residents of Hell qualifying for Winter Heating payments than there is of me ever owning a copy of this single, I can see why it’s going to be huge so I’ll let it off lightly. At least it’s not some forgettable pop effort like… well… like the song above it.

A couple of features that may help you distinguish this song from the one produced by New Order would be the very loud guitars grinding away throughout and the singer virtually shouting his way through the song. Those two features alone will probably put off a lot of people (there go the appearances on The Saturday Show and Songs Of Praise then), but let’s try to be fair here. I’ve heard some songs along these lines that just go on and on for about four minutes (or until the singer’s voice completely gives out) and then stop, but this one does have a plan and there is a tune here (cue lots of grannies saying”Oh, lovely!”). You may have to stick with it, but at least it holds your attention. Not one I’d buy and certainly not for everyone, but this deserves to be a hit because it’s better than you think it’s going to be.
