Malice In Wonderland.

JUST A DAY
Feeder

This is one of those songs that I suspect will get minimal airplay in old peoples’ homes, possibly because that nice man Daniel O’Donnell wouldn’t be seen dead singing it. Mind you, I doubt the members of Feeder would ever wish to be seen wearing his jumpers, so it all evens out in the end really, doesn’t it? The first few seconds are very deceptive, they lure you into thinking it’s going to be a nice, quiet song wishing you all the best for the Christmas holidays and then the whole thing goes mental without any warning whatsoever. Loud guitars, loud drums and a tune that is clearly moving at a faster pace than is recommended by the stated dose all combine to produce a totally bonkers song. It helps that it’s great fun to listen to, but that’s just an added bonus.
WONDERLAND
Psychedelic Waltons

This is a reasonable dancey tune – it does everything it should do. It’s a tad seventies disco and it’s on the Ministry Of Sound Annual, but it’s got that drag-things-out-longer-than-is-needed feel to it. On the bright side however, the Psychedelic Waltons is a brilliant band name.
