Buck Rogers in the 21st Century.

D'YA WANNA GO FASTER?
Terrorvision

It's a crying shame that they'll probably be best remembered for Tequila, that amusing-for-ten-seconds-then-rapidly-becoming-extremely-irritating song that somehow made it to No.2 a couple of years back, just before EMI got bored with them and asked them to shove off. Looks like the lay-off, enforced or not, has actually done them some good though as this is a very fine tune indeed. For a start, it's under three minutes - this is good news, because even if you hate it it's not going to be on for long. For another thing, it's madder than a box full of bunnies that've spent the whole day munching aphrodisiacs. It gets in, goes bonkers, does the job and gets out in time for the adverts. The radio stations should love this song, but Terrorvision don't need to sit on stools in order to convey their heartfelt lyrics so it's anybody's game really. This is very fine stuff indeed, but I'd advise you to buy it quick because it's one of those songs that'll hit the charts and then be in and out faster than a ram-raiding Land Rover.
BUCK ROGERS
Feeder

Looks like Terrorvision aren't the only ones who've been trying to better themselves. I never really got into Feeder's music, to be honest, but this is encouraging stuff. It starts off nice and quiet and then, all of a sudden, the song explodes into life and rattles along for the next three minutes with barely a pause for breath. Probably the best thing they've done and it was recorded in Milton Keynes too! Amazing what this town can produce, innit?
ALL HOOKED UP
All Saints

If you thought the Spice Girls were continually on the edge of self-destruction, that's nothing compared to this lot, who continually balance / balanced (delete as appropriate) themselves on the very edge of the precipice in an even more unstable fashion than the bus in The Italian Job. If this does turn out to be the final act, then what a sorry way to end it all. This is a dull, seen-it-all-before, pop / R&B effort whose only reason for existing seems to be to mention the word ass as many times as possible (and we're not talking farmyard animals either). Dismal as it is, you know it'll still be in the charts long after Terrorvision and Feeder have gone. Such is life.
